itrek is excited to announce the hiring of a Chief Program Officer, Orit Mizner, who was previously the Senior National Director of Programs at the Israeli-American Council (IAC) and a member of the organization’s executive team. Her first day is March 15.

During her time at IAC, Orit built and managed six core national programs implemented in 22 regions across the U.S. as part of her broader focus on building connections between Israeli-Americans and Jewish-Americans. In response to the pandemic last year, she led the IAC’s launch of an online platform offering 50 innovative activities each week for a variety of age groups and regions.

Before moving to the U.S. in 2017, Orit served as Chief Project Officer at the Israel Innovation Institute, a non-profit focused on bringing innovative technology and knowledge into real-world settings across healthcare, education, transportation and other sectors. She received a BA in Political Science and Criminology and a certificate in Social Corporate Responsibility Management from Haifa University. She also received a certificate from the Board Member Institute for Jewish Nonprofit from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

At itrek, Orit will play a critical role in overseeing the expansion of our programmatic footprint and impact in order to provide more future leaders in business, law, policy and STEM a personal connection to Israel. She will be responsible for shaping and implementing the strategic vision for itrek’s programming in a manner that reflects our commitment to innovation and aligns with our core values.

“Since 2012, itrek has sent over 19,000 graduate students across 103 nationalities to Israel to let them experience it first-hand and build a personal connection, and we were searching for a CPO who could help bring our programming to the next level in terms of both scale and depth,” said itrek CEO, Gil Galanos. “After an extensive search, we’re confident that we’ve found the right person. Orit has a wealth of relevant experience, and we’re lucky to have her onboard.”

“itrek brings the richness and complexity of Israel to life for participants and influences the way they experience it. I am passionate about our mission, growth possibilities and the long-term impact we can have,” Orit said. “I’m excited to join a great team and eager to get to work collaborating with our incredible leaders and alumni.”
