About
Fainy Sukenik is an Israeli educator, social entrepreneur, and prominent voice for women's leadership and social change within Israel's Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) community.
She is the founder and chairwoman of *Baasher Telchi*, an organization supporting Orthodox and Haredi women navigating divorce and separation. She has also played a leading role in national efforts to prevent domestic violence, including the *Red Lines initiative*, bringing together organizations across Israeli society to advance systemic change.
In 2026, Sukenik leaded the *Haredi Women's Primaries*, a groundbreaking grassroots initiative that mobilized thousands of Haredi women to demand meaningful political representation and greater influence over decisions affecting their lives and communities.
She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Educational Counseling and is a graduate of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership. Her professional background includes teaching, educational counseling, and school leadership. In recognition of her social impact, she was selected to light a torch at Israel's national Independence Day ceremony.
Through her activism, lectures, and public engagement, Sukenik explores the intersections of religious identity, gender, social change, and civic responsibility. She offers a unique insider's perspective on the diversity and complexities of contemporary Haredi society, its evolving relationship with the State of Israel, and the challenges and opportunities facing Israeli society as a whole.
