Joe Perlov is an American-born Israeli educator. He moved to Israel as a teenager, where he lived and worked on a kibbutz in the Negev. After military service, he farmed, studied, and taught civics in the regional high school. He served as the Jewish Agency’s senior representative in Great Britain, and spent two years in Washington, DC, as emissary to an international Jewish Organization. Joe has worked on Jewish community development throughout Eastern and Central Europe. In 1999, he founded one of Israel’s most successful educational tour companies. He has created and run educational programs and fact-finding trips for many thousands of participants, from high schools, universities, synagogues, and major organizations, including AIPAC, J-Street, Jewish Federations, and community groups.
Joe has pioneered innovative programming in Israeli Arab society and has consistently argued for the importance of investigating and experiencing the challenging, exciting, and critical issues of shared citizenship, identity formation, and coexistence.
