Civil Rights lawyer, former Israeli Government and Parliament (Knesset) official, LGBTQ activist & board member at the Israeli oldest LGBTQ NGO, the "Aguda". Expert on Israeli politics, law, history and society and the ways they interwined, with specific epxerience in Israeli LGBTQ issues, Holocaust Survivors issues, discrimination and contstitutional Israeli Law. – Extended Bio: Nimrod Gornstein is a civil rights lawyer and a board member of the Israeli "Aguda" – the main Israeli NGO advocating for the LGBTQ community in Israel. Running a pro-bono legal clinic at the Law faculty of the Israeli College for Management, he teaches law students civil rights litigation and policymaking. In his past as an Israeli official, he facilitated the establishment of a first-of-its-kind governmental unit for the promotion of LGBTQ populations at the Israeli Ministry for Social Equality, executed large-scale projects in over 70 local municipalities across Israel and enacted legislation in several social topics, while advising the office’s General Director on Holocaust Survivors social and legal issues. Prior to that, Nimrod worked at the Israeli "Knesset" as an advisor for a Knesset member, headed the legal department of the "Aguda" NGO, and later on as a lawyer represented the organization in a lawsuit against a local print shop for its refusal to service the org based on the owners religious belief, a topic he is currently writing about as a researcher at the law faculty of Tel-Aviv University. During his military service, Nimrod served as an openly-out commander in the Israeli artillery force. His fields of expertise are Israeli legal framework, LGBTQ issues, Holocaust Survivors issues, Theory and practice of Discrimination in Israel, Israeli politics and public service. He currently holds an LLB in law and a BA in General History (Summa Cum Laude) from Tel-Aviv University, and currently writing a thesis at Tel-Aviv university. Nowadays, he is among the leading group of LGBTQ NGOs and civilians doing the strategymaking of keeping the LGBTQ interest throughout the current Israeli legal, social and security unrest.
