For 20 years, Yonit Levi has been the anchor of Israel’s top primetime news program on Channel 12, Israel’s most popular and widely watched television station. After
starting in 2003 (at the age of 25) as the program’s co-anchor, she made Israeli
television history in 2007 when she was named its sole news anchor – the first woman in Israel to hold this position. As of this past election, Yonit has anchored 10 election night shows which on average last nearly 10 hours. Throughout her career she has
conducted interviews with a who’s who of world leaders, including most recently
President Joseph Biden, President Barack Obama, President George W. Bush,
President Bill Clinton, Secretary Antony Blinken, Secretary Mike Pompeo,
Secretary Hillary Clinton, Ambassador Nikki Haley, as well as international icons
such as Bill Gates, Lin-Manuel Miranda and comedians Jon Stewart and Conan
O’Brien. In 2021 Levi also started a weekly podcast – UNHOLY: Two Jews on the
news, with Jonathan Freedland of the Guardian. Each week, the podcast discusses Israel, the Jewish world as well as other world affairs from an Israel-Jewish angle, and since its inception, listeners from over 120 countries tune in. Levi also spent four years living in the United States as a child while her father worked as an Israeli diplomat in both Chicago and Los Angeles.
